Lynn is a designer and researcher with over 20 years business experience. She has an on-going interest in exploring design process and practice in diverse contexts and in so doing researching the role design plays in economic regeneration. She completed her PhD (2011) at The Glasgow School of Art in The School of Design: Visual Communication. She is particularly interested in the role of the visual in practice-based research contexts and developing experimental and emergent methodologies that contribute to design theory.
Prior to her academic work she directed research assignments nationally and internationally with both public and private sector clients in the Creative Industries. Her current academic research foregrounds questions around – research as practice and practice as research – through emergent and experimental Design Innovation approaches including participatory action research, critical reflection and creative action towards developing communities of practice that can transform individual and collective wellbeing.
