Are you interested in new ideas and opportunities for businesses in the Rural Economy? Design in Action (DiA) invites you to a one day event, ‘Rural Stimulation’ on Tuesday 6th May, 2014.
Scotland’s rural economy sector faces many challenges; economic, social and environmental. However, there are opportunities for innovation even in times of austerity. For instance, we are witnessing the emergence of new business models, initiatives and movements led by individuals, small groups or even by whole communities that create positive change.
The event will feature a line up of lightning talks with renowned designers, thinkers, local and national business leaders, policy makers as well as rural agencies from across Scotland. Our aim for the day is to promote exploratory conversations, share our research and draw on our collective knowledge to help shape and drive investment for the DiA programme of design led innovation. This will ultimately create new, fresh ideas and businesses for the Scottish Rural Economy.
We are looking for a variety of open-minded people to attend this event and contribute towards the shared goal of a better understanding of opportunities for our rural economy. So, if you are an individual, small to medium enterprise, academic, design thinker or policy maker with a special interest or experience of rural life and would like to attend please sign up below or contact Events for more details.
