DESIGN in ACTION – SCOTTISH LEGAL SERVICES CHIASMA
Design in Action created interactive innovation events, called Chiasma, to engage with business opportunities identified through the university research base. Industry, designers and academics were chosen to work together and build new thinking around complex problems (pre-identified by both industry and researchers). The generated Chiasma ideas were then embedded into this context providing transformative solutions.
Dundee Law School is not just leading the debate on innovation in the Scottish legal services sector but is a major contributor to the innovation process itself. Partnering Design in Action in Chiasma helped inform the international standard of research excellence at the School and aimed to allow new and innovative business models to be produced and studied.
SCOTTISH LEGAL SERVICES CHIASMA – INNOVATING TO THRIVE
Date: 9.30am, Friday 6th December 2013 – 4pm, Saturday 7th December 2013
Location/Accommodation: Double Tree by Hilton, Dundee, DD2 5JT
The aim of this Chiasma was to generate new ideas for the Scottish legal services sector. Successful applicants formed teams within the Chiasma and made iterative pitches of their solutions to an expert panel for feedback.
The Chiasma was an invaluable introduction to innovative design working methodologies that participants can apply to their own work or practice. It was a unique and exciting mode of continuous professional development. This Chiasma also offered a valuable networking opportunity that allowed for deep relationship building with fellow attendees.
